Where to sit the exam

Eindhoven has its own CBR theory-exam location serving the wider Brainport region. Reserve through MijnCBR with DigiD; the booking screen shows the exact street address and available slots — confirm it there rather than relying on an old address.

Take it in English

The CBR motor theory exam is conducted only in Dutch. To take it in English you need a CBR-listed interpreter (the I-T product). See our full guide on how to book an English interpreter for the CBR motor exam. Total cost with interpreter: ~€356.50 — or learn in English first and skip the interpreter fee entirely.

Eindhoven-specific hazards the CBR tests

  • The high-speed ring (Randweg N2/A2) — Eindhoven’s ring mixes motorway-speed merging with frequent exits. Hazard scenarios test merging judgement, blind spots, and following distance at speed.
  • Brainport commuter density — heavy peak-hour car traffic around the High Tech Campus and ASML sites. Expect queue-end and sudden-braking scenarios; the CBR answer favours easing off early and increasing distance.
  • Fast turbo-roundabouts — the south of the country uses large multi-lane turbo-roundabouts. Lane discipline and signalling on exit are common test points.
  • Industrial and freight traffic — trucks with large blind spots (dode hoek) around logistics zones. A recurring motor scenario is staying out of a turning truck’s blind spot.
  • Fast fietsstraten and scooter mixing — cycle-priority streets where cars and scooters share space. Watch for the priority rule the exam expects.

Booking tips

  • Book 2–4 weeks ahead; Eindhoven serves a large region so slots move quickly.
  • Book the interpreter after the CBR slot is confirmed — they need your CBR candidate number.
  • English-interpreter exam = 45 minutes (vs 30 for Dutch).
  • Bring valid ID, or you forfeit both fees.

Riding schools around Eindhoven that teach in English

DutchTheory covers the theory side. For the practical exams (AVB + AVD) you need a motorcycle riding school. Several schools in the Eindhoven and Brainport region offer motorcycle lessons in English — confirm English availability when you book, as not every instructor is fluent.
